Frequently asked questions
Short, honest answers. If yours isn't here, the docs go deeper.
Do I need a developer to set this up?
No. You create a custom app in your Shopify admin (a few clicks), paste two credentials into TrackedSale, and add your platform tokens. The storefront snippet and the orders webhook are registered automatically — no theme edits. Most stores finish in about 15 minutes.
Will it slow down my store?
No. The on-site script is tiny and loads asynchronously; all the heavy lifting (verification, enrichment, dispatch to platforms) happens on our servers, not in your shopper's browser.
How does deduplication work?
Browser and server events share a single event_id. Platforms that support the Conversions/Events API (Meta, TikTok, Pinterest) use it to keep exactly one copy of each event, so running both paths never double-counts a sale.
Which platforms are supported?
Meta Conversions API, TikTok Events API, Google (tag with enhanced match fields), Klaviyo server-side events and Pinterest Conversions API — all from one Shopify connection.
What customer data is sent to ad platforms?
Identifiers are SHA-256 hashed before dispatch wherever the platform expects hashes (email, phone, name, address for Meta/TikTok/Pinterest), plus click IDs and order values. Klaviyo — your own email tool — receives plain-text profile data, as its API requires. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
Is it consent / GDPR aware?
Yes. Each event carries the shopper's consent state; denied consent gates marketing destinations and Google receives the matching Consent Mode signals. TrackedSale never force-grants consent.
Does it replace my existing Meta pixel?
It works alongside it. You can keep the browser pixel firing (with deduplication) or let TrackedSale handle Meta entirely server-side — it's a per-store toggle.
Do purchases on Shopify's hosted checkout get tracked?
Yes — that's the point. Purchases come from Shopify's signed orders/create webhook, which fires regardless of checkout type, ad blockers or iOS settings.
What does the free trial include?
Everything, with no card required. Cancel anytime — no contracts, no commitments.
Can I manage multiple stores?
Yes. Organizations support multiple stores and team members with roles, and pixels can be shared across stores where that makes sense.
Still unsure? Read the documentation or start a free trial and see your own store's data.
